What do you like best about the Willow Project?

The opportunity to be involved in community service with such enthusiastic and dedicated peers!

What is your most memorable Willow Project experience?

My first day of clinic.  I was incredibly nervous and showed up wearing the wrong attire! The Co-managers were very forgiving and I ended up having a wonderful time performing intake tasks on patients for the first time.

What does being a part of the Willow Project mean to you?

It means being able to carry out social advocacy through action and education.  It means spreading positive ripples throughout the community, whether it is by performing my clinic duties, providing a helping hand to fellow members, or listening to patients’ stories.

Give an interesting story or fact about yourself?

I started the Mind Body and Wellness Center at The House Peer Counseling Facility on the UCDavis Campus.  I became interested in relaxation and mindfulness after battling with anxiety myself, and strive to teach the techniques I have learned to others through programs and training.

What fruit are you and why?

I am a strawberry, because they are sweet and versatile (in my opinion, they can go on many kinds of food).  I like to think that others see me as a sweet person.  I strive to be versatile by fostering my ability to gracefully adapt to and accept change.
